Heartbreak in Bradenton: Mystics suffer 4th straight loss

The Mystics suffered their fourth straight loss to the Indiana Fever last night. Coached by former Mystics assistant coach Marianne Stanley, the Fever successfully snapped an eleven game losing streak to the Mystics in regular season play.

After a high scoring first period with a dominant performance from reigning 2020 final MVP, Emma Meesseman, the game turned to the Fever’s favor. At the half, the Mystics were down 52-39 and were not able to come back. Kelsey Mitchell and Tiffany Mitchell were integral pieces in the Fever’s game plan, showcasing dynamic and aggressive play. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 29 points and Meesseman of the Mystics led them with 19 points. Despite defeating the Fever 101-76 in their opener, they failed to maintain their success from early on in the season.

Now 3-5 after their 91-84 loss last night, the Mystics look to emulate their early success and regain their momentum against the Minnesota Lynx tomorrow, August 11th at 9pm EST.
